What to do when you feel as if LIFE has screwed you and is now smoking a cigarette with sweet satisfaction? Oh my, such language! We all have experienced that moment, or perhaps a few for some of us, where we stop, look up at the clouds above and ask, “Really?!” Or, “What else could possibly be coming, now?” I’ve certainly been there. Having those one sided conversations with the sky, hopeful that the powers of the universe, or God will actually answer the questions of desperation is seriously isolating.

Simply knowing this scenario is not my own, special situation and that others experience utter frustration, shock and disappointment is a comfort. Not that we wish these negative emotions upon anyone, but realizing this is a communal suffering type of common denominator of human experience can allow you, me and our fellow humans to move forward.

Finding motivation to press on while facing great struggle is beyond tough. It can be pure agony to put one foot in front of the other when all your heart and mind and body say is “Stop and give up!” The challenge to pick up those boot straps and march on sucks. But know this…action inspires motivation. If you perform the simplest of tasks, the fire to propel yourself onward is fed. The quicksand of being beaten down loses its grasp when you get off your duff and take action, however small.

Movement is one of my go-to methods. A downward dog, forward bend, or a chest opener, none of which require a mat, music, or more than a matter of minutes all assist greatly in getting me back on track. Another mode to hopping back on that moving train is to make contact. Reach out to those you love, respect and wish to emulate. Support, no matter how many miles away can pull us upward, making that tunnel of doom a distant memory.

Be prepared for greatness, as these processes have mass potential to help. Know that we are all vulnerable to heart break in the many realms and genres of life. Decide to take action if challenged by adversity, whatever that may be and honor your passion and dreams to continue creating your best life.
